TRAINING FOR A GYROCOPTER PILOT LICENCE
To fly a gyrocopter in many countries the pilot needs to have a Microlight license with a gyrocopter group endorsement. Training program for Gyrocopter pilot is very similar to training for a Microlight fixed wing (plane) pilot.
Pilot licence is issued by Federation of Ultralight Aicrafts of Lithuania upon the successful completion of the CAA approved training course, a General Flying Test (called a GFT) and a number of written theory exams.
BEGINNER
According to CAA regulations the minimum practical instruction of 26 hours and theoretical course of 63 hours is required to apply for pilot licence.
After completion of training course, student must pass a General Flying Test (GFT) with Gyro examiner, and following ground school exams (a minimum of 75% of correct answers): Air Law, Meterology, Aerodynamics, Human Performance, Gyroplane Technical, Navigation, Principles of Flight.
Medical requirements are very easy to comply - you need a driver medical certificate if you want to fly gyrocopter.


IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A PILOTS LICENCE
Conversions courses for holders of valid for Helicopter, Microlight, Aeroplane, PPL, CPL, ATPL, Military pilot license.
If you hold a valid pilot license, the required number of training hours is reduced to a minimum of 14 hours. You will get an exemption from rest of theory exams except of Gyroplane Technical.
After completion of training course, student must pass a General Flying Test (GFT) with Gyro examiner.
GYROCOPTER INSTRUCTOR RATING
To apply for gyrocopter instructor's qualification, candidate must have a minimum experience of 300 flight hours, including 200 flight hours as a captain in two-seater gyrocopter. Approved training course requires minimum 6:20 hours of flight training and 12 hours of theoretical course program.
